Tomorrow is the official anniversary of my “confer date.” I received my Ph.D. from Stanford University on the 24th. Now, to be sure, I’m not clear where that date came from. My signed dissertation was turned in at least a week and perhaps 2 before that day.

Regardless, noting the anniversary marks an opportunity to think about my productivity in the past year. I drafted three papers in the course of these 12 months. Two of which relate directly to the dissertation (and now book manuscript) while the third does not. In the third paper, I am dipping of my toe into the gushy mud of a new project. Keeping up the pace and more important than that polishing those pieces for publication is the real task at hand.
